In the future, the Dresden Romantic Trail will make visible places in Dresden that are connected to the Romantic era. These include places where painters, writers and musicians lived and worked, but also places of inspiration, such as the Keppgrund or Brühlsche Terrasse.
Many residential buildings from the Romantic era were destroyed or demolished, so that these vanished places should also be remembered. The cemeteries, in turn, tell the story of forgotten Dresden residents who had a decisive influence on these eras. Steles or memorial plaques will be installed at the respective stations. The information will be compiled by scientists and local historians and published with the support of the city of Dresden. This will create a network of stations that Dresden residents interested in history or visitors to the city can discover on the trail of Romanticism.
We will start with stations on Caspar David Friedrich and will continually expand the stations.
